Yard Dog | Molly Brett

Molly is an artist living on her family farm in Jugiong, NSW. Most of her work is inspired by country life, and the western lifestyle. Horses are her biggest love, which is why they feature heavily in her art, along with other animals and scenes that just feel like home.

Her donated work, Yard Dog, is a special piece she painted soon after she lost our kelpie girl, Chukka. Anyone who has been able to watch a good dog work in the yards can appreciate just how special they are – irreplaceable.  The piece centres on a working dog, rendered with affection and realism.

Dogs in rural communities are both companions and co-workers. Molly captures the loyalty and labour intertwined.
